The ability to save or log chats might be nice.
The option to save or log a chat might be nice, that way you can find important bits of text such as book or movie recommendations people have given you, website links, external contact information, or have the ability to submit saved text to site support in the event of a problem.

Great idea! We’re working on it:) We know how important this is and we’re working on doing it to ensure user privacy. It will take at least a month to implement.

This request is now almost 2 years old. Dawn says they're working on it. I've been on this site for 3 years now and very little has changed. I love this site, but I'm sure the developers have real jobs that keep them busy and very little time is spent on improvements or making this site work correctly.

It can be manipulated and distorted as per will, so I guess it better not be implement. But if it has to be, then I guess there should be a switch/tab visible at the respective screens of both the users, which act as buzzers and the chats could only be saved if both the buzzers are pressed i.e. consent of both the users is taken into account.

This would also help you to remember who the other person is in case you haven't chatted in awhile.
This has been part of every instant messenger for at least a decade. It should not take this long to implement.
